Shetland Sheep
Shetland Sheep are a great little breed of sheep used primarily for their wool. Since the breed
was developed on the Shetland Isles, they are diminutive in size like the Shetland pony and Shetland Sheepdog.
They come in a wide range of natural colors which makes their fine wool much sought after by hand spinners. I
have found it makes a great blend with Alpaca fleece. The rams develop a beautiful set of curved horns. They
have naturally occuring short tails, and even wag them sometimes when getting petted. They are a hardy breed and
the ewes often twin.
Since we are moving soon we need to place some of our babies from this year.
We have 4 young rams, three of which would make good neutered fleece animals, and the fourth
could be a flock ram. Their father is a F2 grandson of Jamie, from imported lines from Great Britain.
Price $50 fleece / $150 breeding
