Shetland Sheep

Sadly, we have decided to phase out of raising sheep.  My herd went to a young farmer starting his own flock.  If you are interested, let me know and I can put you in touch with good breeders I know.

Shetland Sheep

Shetland Sheep are a great little breed of sheep used primarily for their wool. Since the breed was developed on the Shetland Isles, they are diminutive in size like the Shetland pony and Shetland Sheepdog. They come in a wide range of natural colors which makes their fine wool much sought after by hand spinners. I have found it makes a great blend with Alpaca fleece. The rams develop a beautiful set of curved horns. They have naturally occuring short tails, and even wag them sometimes when getting petted. They are a hardy breed and the ewes often twin.

We often have lambs for sale.

Rams: Price $75 fleece or meat / $150 with breeding papers

We also have several young ewes that could be purchased separately or with a ram to start your own flock,

Ewes: Price $150 - $250
